ODU and NSU ROTC Scholarship

General Douglas MacArthur Foundation

ODU Cadet William Hamrick

The 2002 recipients for the General Douglas MacArthur ROTC Scholarships at Old Dominion University and Norfolk State University are Cadet William Hamrick and Cadet Tamir Saleem. The award is given to the outstanding Military Science III cadet whose performance most epitomizes the characteristics of "Duty, Honor, Country."

Cadet Hamrick is majoring in Biology and will graduate in August 2004. He served on active duty as an enlisted man for five years prior to attending Old Dominion University, and is currently a member of the Virginia Army National Guard’s Battery A, 1st Battalion, 111th Field Artillery.

Norfolk State University’s Cadet Saleem is a native of Norfolk, Virginia, majoring in Mass Communications and will graduate in December 2003.
