Last winter and spring the MacArthur Memorial was honored to have Miss Young Eun Jang as an intern helping the Archives and Education Department. A visiting undergraduate to Norfolk’s Old Dominion University, Miss Jang served more than 100 hundred hours at the Memorial translating Korean materials for the Archives and preparing Korean texts for Korean visitors to the MacArthur Memorial.

Young translated the Museum Gallery Guide and then created a Korean language audio guide for the nine galleries of the MacArthur Memorial Museum. Unfortunately for us, she finished her final semester at Old Dominion in May of 2006 and had to return to her home in Korea. She is already greatly missed for her efficiency, capability, and warm smile.
