World War II Traveling Footlockers

World War II Traveling Footlockers - photo credit:flickr/James EmeryIn partnership with the Verizon Foundation, the MacArthur Memorial is offering a new education program: World War II Traveling Footlockers.  These Traveling Footlockers contain artifacts from World War II that will give students insight into the lives of average Americans on the battlefield and on the homefront.

Each footlocker also contains fact sheets about the artifacts, as well as SOL based suggestions for classroom activities related to the artifacts.  Like all of the Memorial’s education programs, these footlockers are FREE, and if you are interested in a way to reinforce SOLs while ensuring that your students encounter the past in a unique, “hands on” way, these traveling footlockers are for you!

Reserve one for your classroom today by contacting Amanda Williams – 757.441.2965 or amanda.williams@norfolk.gov.
