RG-119 Papers of Lieutenant Colonel George E. Schubert, USA, SWPA, USAFPAC FECOM; 2 Boxes (1 Shelf Foot) Schubert served under General MacArthur’s command during World War II and the Occupation of Japan, and fought with the Eighth U.S. Army in Korea. He was a billeting officer for USAFPAC in the Philippines and a commandant of the Headquarters and Service Command in Japan. The collection includes artifacts, documents, memorabilia, photographs, and photo albums from Schubert’s service.

Schubert began his military career as a non commissioned officer in the New York National Guard. Within the collection is a photo album containing a large collection of images of the 10th Infantry, New York National Guard.

Lt. Colonel Schubert served as the billeting officer for Manila after the reoccupation of the city. Serving with the Headquarters and Service Command his unit took up residence in the destroyed Manila Hotel.

During the Occupation of Japan, Schubert served with the Headquarters and Service Command in Tokyo. This collection contains many items acquired during that time including correspondence, photos, and printed materials.
